Stuttgart, Germany, March 14, 2017 – GreyOrange, a multinational robotics company that designs, manufactures and deploys advanced robotics and automation systems at distribution and fulfillment centres, has set up its European regional headquarters in Hannover, Germany. The company will cater to the fast growing e-commerce, omni-channel retail and supply chain sectors with its state-of-the-art warehouse automation solutions for inventory management, order profiling and sorting.
GreyOrange is recognised as one of the world’s Top 50 Robotics Companies by Robotics Business Review. GreyOrange has been at the forefront of warehouse automation innovation, democratising such solutions for various industries. The company’s marquee solutions Butler (goods-to-person inventory storage and picking and combining system) and Sorter (modular system for automating sorting processes in warehouses and fulfillment centres) have been deployed at client sites across Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, and India, helping them increase efficiency multi-fold and improve last mile delivery.
Even though European countries have the most resilient supply chain, the region still relies on a lot of manual operations in the break bulk supply chain operations, offering much room for automation for enhancing efficiency. GreyOrange aims to fill this gap with software excellence and bring in greater automation and efficiency to supply chain and warehousing in Europe.
Samay Kolhi, CEO and Co-founder, GreyOrange Pte Ltd said, “Germany is a very important market for GreyOrange and offers immense potential for growth. With our unique combination of hardware and software expertise, we aim to bring in big difference in automating the break bulk supply chain industry in Europe which so far has very limited automation. We are looking at Germany as our regional headquarters for serving customers across Europe and are looking at setting up an R&D centre within the next 12 months”
Wolfgang Holtgen, Co-Founder and Director at GreyOrange Pte, Ltd. said, “Europe is an advanced market in terms of hardware engineering. However, when it comes to performant and scalable e-commerce applications we see lots of room for improvement in Europe. With GreyOrange’s entry into the market and its expertise in technologies such as AI and machine learning, one can expect to see new levels of efficiency in supply chain and warehouse automation. The market is ready for new ideas and we have the solutions that the industry needs.”
In recent months GreyOrange has secured customers in Hongkong and India for retail, South America – a leading home improvement and decoration retailer – and in Japan with the Nitori Group, for one of their largest furniture and home furnishing chains. GreyOrange has acquired its first customer in Western Europe in the omni-channel retail space and expect the deployment to start in second half of the year. The company is also in discussions with customers in Germany, Netherlands and France for deploying its Sorter and Butler robots.
To demonstrate the power of its solutions to businesses in in Europe, GreyOrange is exhibiting in LogiMAT 2017, the biggest annual intralogistics exhibition in Europe, between 14 and 16 March 2017, at Stuttgart, Germany.
